Hello! Enjoy a little foray in to the life & times of Lego Lucy

Wednesday 19 May 2010

A brief snapshot of recent events through a slightly broken camera lens.

The new look Crucible Theatre in the centre of Sheffield...

Hanging out with the Arch Nazards, backstage at O2 Academy, Sheffield.

 LOL.

A particularly hard-to-make-out
snap of LegoLucy rocking out during the Arch Nazards set...

Well, she must have been having a good time.

A trip to Manchester...The Arch Nazards @ Islington Mill

Location: Islington Mill, Salford, Manchester.

And the reason for this mission over the snake pass (to rock the heck out with the Nazards):

Upon arrival at the venue, a little wait was needed until sound-check o'clock. Not long to go, the Suzuki Method chaps were on stage testing their guitars and synths etc.  Time for a little rest.

Hallo Lucy Synth.

Hallo Lee Bass.

Perfect time for a G&T...Thanks Gordon.

There was even time to pop in to a local exhibition (it was downstairs, so very local)...
Salford Zine Library presents the Stomach Pump exhibition.
A collection of over 400 zines dating back 30 odd years.  Sick.

Look...

The Beanie, with Dave the menace...Well I mean!  What a coincidence that there was that one called the Beano, but that was like about Dennis, not Dave int it...

Awesome:

The Suzuki Method were headlining the night, they sounded pretty ace during sound-check so the show later on was an exciting prospect.
Not to mention Kingfishers Catch Fire who were first to hit the stage...Rocking out to a highly receptive audience,

Trumpets and synths and drums and guitars all ready, vocal chords suitably warmed up,

Ambient lighting...Check.

Everything was in order...And then the Nazards rocked out,

And so did Suzuki Method, (it looks like he is kissing the microphone doesn't it.)

Review...here.

All in all a pleasant/furious event.

Friday 7 May 2010

Part 2 from Devon... Awash with G&T &Tea. Lovely.

Look at the view out of the window...hills...countrysidey stuff, a lovely setting to play music in,

Synth-tastic times

So, after 2 (and a half) pretty busy days of rocking out, it was Friday evening and time to chill out and have a G&T.  It was also Elaine's birthday, a massive party was completely necessary... with pizza oven roaring and gin and tonics pouring...
Happy Birthday Elaine...

Soon enough LegoLucy was literally drowning in a sea of G&T
Cheers! to Sammy...LegEnd.

Wahoo!  Elaine blowing out her birthday candles...

Grace and Aby doing a little dancing to some tunes,
We were even serenaded by Stephen, a cheeky bonus.

Danny had a tale or two to tell...
Matt...being rude...dear me,

Well...A completely awesome partA whot.
The next morning, ouchy!  A gin too far perhaps?  Time to head to a tech rehearsal...

But Steve...

You can't go dressed like that dude...
The tech rehearsal was smashing, even for those with hangovers it was beautiful. The band were ready to rock ErmFest the next day.

Time for a rest and some food and some chatting and a ginger beer.

Then, an early night and a good cup of tea because Sunday would be a bit busy- Setting up the stage for Ermington Village Fest, which the band were headlining... Rob would be on hand to do ultimate sound.

So then after sound-check etc. there was some top-notch entertainment on hand...
 Wahay for expressive Cow-bell players!

And this guy....

My friend Andy.

Excellent.  Things looking and sounding pretty good at 2pm, just a little waiting until 10-ish when it would be time to smash out a set of tunes.
The time was filled productively, tea drinking, cow watching...that kind of thing.

Eventually time to rock out, it was atmospheric, the scent of cider filling the air, the gig was amazing, the village square was packed...we would have to celebrate.  No pictures to show for it mind.

Next day after a delicious coffee it was time to head back up north, Sheffield calling. One long sleepy train journey...home time.

To conclude by mentioning a completely unrelated matter...  This is the best flavour of tic-tac in existence.  Fact.
( I don't work for the tic-tac people, I am not trying to advertise for them, this is just literally the tastiest box of tic-tacs I ever did scoff.  Delicious.)
