Lego Lucy's Festival Fun Time

This year we decided to try out a little festival that we had not heard of before ...
Y Not Festival.

It was located in the beautiful Peak District, instantly making the event sound appealing, a boss location for a festie and the line-up had literally 3s of good bands on it.

Our campsite.

So our campsite seemed nice enough, grassy, tents everywhere, usual camping situation, minus the boys next door to us who were urinating on their own belongings...bit weird.

Sun setting on day 1 of 'Y Not' Fest

There were various fine food establishments which we explored at length, including one place where we got this absolutely delicious hummus, halloumi wrap, amazing, definitely a high point of the weekend for us, on a par only with the chocolate brownie and coffee that we had on days 2 & 3. Yum.

tried and toasted - HA!

Watching a band...The Duke Spirit
There were a couple of bands that we wanted to check out, which we did, Go! Team was very exciting on Friday night, they had TWO drummers, enjoyed that element very much.

'Dog Is Dead' seemed like a cool band, other than being called 'Dog Is Dead' which seemed really quite a strange name for a band... Enjoyed their set though.

Sun setting on Day 2
There was a neon sand pit situation...

LL having a little go in there...

Unfortunately the weather was a bit on the rainy side during our stint at Y-Not, a little disappointing, we were expecting to bask in sunshine non-stop for the whole weekend, not sure why we expected that actually...
bit cloudy...

in the tent whilst it rained
rain.
The sun making a brief appearance...
On the last night we had a good old dance in the best tent we found, the bass was so PHAT in there that it actually hurt a bit, the other health risk was a man dancing around so viciously with very spikey, gangley elbows that we had to keep an eye on.
night time, dance tent, rain outside

Is that a tear on LL's face, no it's rain.
All in all a fun weekend, musically speaking it did not blow our minds (it blew our ears off at points) but in terms of delicious chocolate brownie eating and having a little L O L it was quite alright by us... Y NOT.

Dartington

Last week I was up at Dartington, http://www.dartington.org/

It's an amazing magical place, everyone should visit, it used to be the campus for an arts college, not any more, but still there is loads going on over there...During a rather busy week there was still a little bit of time to soak up the beautiful setting.  Here are a couple of snaps...
